So the Flooded Bridge isn't really a flooded bridge at all, thats just what we have always called it and will probably always continue to call it. It a peaceful little place near the mountains in Criglersville, VA.
We headed up there one Sunday afternoon and the closer we got the darker it got...well it ended up raining, pouring actually for 35+ minutes so needless to say we didn't get to spend time at the flooded bridge so we took a ride up to the town of Madison to wait for the storm to pass...this is what the weather was like when we got up there. There was water and lots of it all over the road.
We waited out the storm, meanwhile I fed Haiden so Cameron got to sit up front with Daddy, she loved that and then we headed back to the flooded bridge.
We stopped at a suspended bridge, I was too scared to walk across to I told Steve to go up there so I could get pictures of him :)
Then of course Cameron wanted to join him.
Daddy's Little Girl for sure!
When we made it back to the flooded bridge we decided not to get out because the water was really dirty at that point and it was moving pretty quickly.
Now the reason we call it the "Flooded Bridge" is not because of the bridge you see in the picture but because the road that we were sitting on has a small portion where the water runs over it. We like to get out and walk in and across it. We have swam here before too. Lots of fun!
We will go back again soon, hopefully on a day without rain!
Of course we had to bring Mack with us. He wanted no parts of staying home alone while we were out having fun so he tagged along, one ear flopped over.
Then before heading home we took a ride to a tiny little cabin, literally in the middle of nowhere, that Steve's uncle built. You can only get back there with 4WD and believe me when I say it is scary. The road is barely wide enough for the truck and we just had to gun it the hills are so steep. This is the calm part...
I was too busy with my adrenaline rush getting back there that I didn't take any pictures of the hills...oh well...here it is, peaceful and quiet...Steve is still trying to convince me to stay the night here one time...I'm not sold yet...
We love going up to the area where Steve grew up. It's beautiful and mountainous and peaceful and quiet and ohhh I could go on and on...
On the way out were these huge cool leaves...
